18th May: Josh Daniell from Snowball Effect based in Auckland, came to talk to the club about how capital raising in New Zealand is changing and the impact of Equity Crowdfunding. 



11th May: Anne Hare from Craigs Investment Partners gave some advice around starting off investing and how young people should set up their portfolios using either direct investing or indirect investing through Kiwisaver.

4th May: Pizza, some great networking and discussion about investing and the distribution of membership packs. The club watched the documentary "London vs The Rest" and interesting look at the economic factors shaping Britain a week out from their election. 

24th April 2015: Bloomberg Aptitude Testing to test students skills against finance students from around the world and test their aptitude for various careers.



8th April 2015: Business and Investment Club has a major win in the University of Auckland Stock Pitch Competition with a three man team comprised of Michael Sutton, Michael Luke and Logan Van Rynbach the team was able to convince the judges of their recommendation on the stock Kathmandu.



30th March 2015: ANZ Business bankers Fiona Plimmer and Paul Easton came to chat about what you need to know when you start a small business and how to be successful at it.



23rd March 2015: Local Property Investor and club mentor Dean Jackson came to talk about his amazing story of retirement at 35.


9th March 2015: Introduction to the Year for Business and Investment Club and the range of events we're hosting in 2015.




19th May 2014: Philip Poole was surprised by the large crowd that showed up to learn about Whittakers story, their history and values. In return, he surprised us with the amount of chocolate he brought with him for us! :-)



12th May 2014: We ran the BAT (Bloomberg Amplitude Test) at Victoria university. Good luck to all participants!

24th March 2014: Sir Bob Jones came and spoke to BIC tonight, sharing his thoughts about entrepreneurship. A man who definitely stands out in the business world for his straight up attitude and unique way of doing things.



17th March 2014: Nolen Smith from Kineo draws an organisational scheme of his companies on the whiteboard during his talk on Monday "How to create a successful IT start-up" :-)


10th March 2014: First meeting (AGM). We have welcomed new members, introduced the upcoming guest speaker events this trimester, had Andrew from ANZ to share his post-university experience and enjoyed some free pizza :-)


7th October 2013: Professional speaker Amy Scott gets excited while talking to a large crowd of students about her "dotting" technique to make inter-personal communication easier and more effective


23rd September 2013: Finance minister Hon Bill English visits the Victoria university Business and Investment Club and talks to more than 120 students about his daily job - managing the country´s finances of $250 billion dollars.
